A year ago, in January 2017, we went as a family to discover Sri Lanka. There, we met the Australian-Singalese couple, Emma and Gayaschawn. As active as they are welcoming, they have just opened their guest house in Kabalana. Shall we visit you?
Sri Lanka: emerald island, pearl of the Orient, Serendib or ruby island, tear of India... so many names for this piece of land in the middle of the Indian Ocean. As you may have read in our travel diary, this country was a real revelation, a constant enchantment both by the beauty of the landscapes and by the smile of the population. For almost a month, we traveled the south side of the island.
In our (large) luggage (not to mention board bags), we had a special order for a couple we met through Binch. A blue-tinted Petit Cochon log for Madame and a Flat Track for Monsieur.
Emma, Australian, travels between Colombo and Dubai where she teaches English in an international establishment.
Gayashanw, Sri Lankan, lives between Colombo and Kabalana (between Midigama and Galle), and enjoys a few trips to surf. Last year, he introduced us to his brand of Gitanos shirts, which you literally fell in love with this summer. Brief!
When you land in Sri Lanka, there is no shortage of accommodation. Tourism continues to develop, a clientele of surfers, families, coming from the 4 corners of the world. For a long time, the two lovers had had in mind opening a guest house, in their image, cool and welcoming, in the colors of their travels. Welcome to Gitano House.
You will undoubtedly appreciate the rooms, the swimming pool, the roof top to try yoga (or stroll), the flower garden... A paradise just a few minutes from the spots of Kabalana, surfing in the turquoise waters.
Have fun following them on social networks, they will take you on a journey to the land of rice & curry, while you wait to pay them a little visit...
